This lovely fun looking 100cm tall wiki tiki Spirit chaser totem pole has been personally handmade for Siiren under our strict fair-trade guidelines with no exceptions. This means they have not been mass produced in sweat shops or generically made by machine.

Totem poles are traditionally monumental sculptures carved from great trees, typically Western Red cedar, by a number of Indigenous cultures along the Pacific northwest coast of North America. The word "totem" is derived from the Ojibwa word odoodem, "his totem, his kinship group" (root -oode). The native American style totem poles we sell are made by an Indonesian family who descend from First nations people who lived in Canada some 65 - 70 years  ago. These people are not Full blooded First nations themselves but simply artists who have been taught by there descendants and now enjoy making statues, ornaments and art in traditional ways to respect the art of their ancestors. A bit like modern day Egyptians creating Papyrus in respect of their forefathers art..

Our wooden Totem poles have been created using tropical bog wood which is very fast growing and achieves its full size after only 5 years. The totem poles we have for sale can be used inside or outdoors. But will need treating if being used outside. We provide a care sheet for advice on outdoor use

Please note: Wiki Tikis are meant to look aged and patched up, the patches of different colour on the totem is in the design and not a flaw.

Due to the hand painted nature of this product, paint styles may look different to the styled pictured. The colours will be very similar however.
